We have learned that some schools that have used the "Mass Update" functionality to add 1701 codes for Core French or First Nations Programs have ended up with duplicate (or triplicate) records on the Programs sub-top-tab in the student record in MyEdBC. On a positive note, these multiple records are reflected only once in the actual 1701 extract and on subsequent reports. This issue has been reported to Fujitsu.
Because we must move forward to prepare for the1701 snapshot, we recommend that you continue on with the task of identifying your students that require 1701 program codes. When you have a finalized list, you may begin to mass update these two programs codes. NOTE: You may not end up with the multiple records as not all schools are experiencing this issue. If you do get multiple records, you will need to delete the extra records. At this time, we do not have any workarounds for this problem except to assign program codes to individual students, rather than use the "Mass Update" functionality.
Please contact Maria Salituro if you have any questions or concerns. We will provide updates if we receive any information from Fujitsu regarding this issue.
